Welcome to the Chironomid Exchange Forum!

Use this resource to discuss midge matters with the world-wide community of researchers, and to keep up-to-date on related data and developments, e.g. concerning recent publications or widely used long-term reference sources.

Some basic rules: Please limit the contents of your posts to matters concerning the study of Chironomidae. This is not a forum for remarks on politics, religion, etc.  Administrators reserve the right to modify or delete any inappropriate post; repeat offenders will be warned, and then kept from further posting if necessary.
Should you wish to use in publications of your own any data that you see on the Forum without a corresponding reference citation, do not do so without obtaining prior consent of the person who posted the data here, and always give proper credit to that person and the Forum as your sources.

This Forum is organized in four nested hierarchic levels. On the "Home" page you see the top level items, called categories, identified by headings in white letters on dark blue bars across the entire screen. Each category contains one or more boards, which can be accessed by clicking on the respective link behind the heading in orange letters on light blue background. Each board contains one or more topics, each of which contains individual posts submitted by the Forum's users.

Forum membership is organized hierarchically as well, with successively decreasing levels of rights and responsibilities from so-called administrators to moderators to regular members. If you wish to participate on one of the higher levels, please write to ethanbr@umich.edu.

Please keep in mind that this Forum is, and will always remain, a work in progress that depends on the quality and volume of contributions from users like you. Thank you very much for your understanding and participation.
