We have found a certain type of larval head capsules in a sediment core taken from a lake in the Tatra Mountains (N Slovakia). This type only occurs in the laminated sediments older than 8000 years (i.e. when the lake was strongly influenced by a glacier) and entirely disappears together with the lamination (i.e. glacier in the valley). It is for sure a cold-stenothermal species most likely linked to glacial conditions recently occurring in glacier lakes. The head is quite dark, the mentum has 1 median and 7 lateral teeth; these characters can occur in Diamesa, Cricotopus and Orthocladius...
