It has been announced that that the Special Issue of the Journal of Limnology dedicated to the "20th International Symposium on Chironomidae 2017" has been published online at:

https://www.jlimnol.it/index.php/jlimnol
https://www.jlimnol.it/index.php/jlimnol/issue/view/66

Special thanks to the issue's scientific editors, and to Nadia Moscato and her team for all their work in producing these proceedings.

The printed issue "will be available in few weeks" (reportedly, publication has been promised within the year 2018). Each participant will receive a hard copy to the respective address in the Abstract Book (https://www.muse.it/it/partecipa/Congressi-e-Convegni/archivio/20th_International_Symposium_on_Chironomidae/Documents/20th_ISC_Abstract%20book.pdf).
If your address has changed in the meantime, please inform Valeria Lencioni (Valeria.Lencioni@muse.it) immediately.

PLEASE NOTE that all acts of nomenclature in any of those papers will be effective from the print version only, as the online versions do not meet all requirements of the ICZN Code.

The editors of these Proceedings have announced that the first of the papers to be included are being posted on the journal website (https://www.jlimnol.it/index.php/jlimnol/issue/view/64).

Please NOTE, however, that the items being posted at this time are preliminary versions only. The first page of each paper carries a publisher's note that reads: "This article has been accepted for publication and undergone full peer review but has not been through the copyediting, typesetting, pagination and proofreading process, which may lead to differences between this version and the final one. Please cite this article as doi: ...".

Unfortunately, I have had to inform the editors that this practice of publishing non-final versions is decidedly counter-productive. For example, the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature - for very good reasons - does not accept such preliminary versions as 'real' publications.

Consequently, please keep in mind that those early versions of Proceedings papers should be used for personal information only; they should not be distributed or cited as if they were final, unchangeable scientific publications.
