We have recently conducted popular science education on Chironomidae for many middle school students and the general public, and currently have two related contents:
1. The name of Chironomidae comes from the shaking of its front legs, which can be observed naturally.
2. Chironomidae is currently the insect with the fastest wing-fluttering frequency in the world.
I would like to ask if someone are aware of any related literature or research on the phenomena or mechanisms of these two contents.
Best,
Wenbin
