Various topics / Re: INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM IN...
Last post by Martin Spies - March 31, 2022, 11:00:23 AM
Dear colleagues,

It is my pleasure to announce that the 21st International Symposium on Chironomidae will be held 4-7 July 2022.
The symposium was originally planned to be held in Tsukuba, Japan, but unfortunately the never-ending pandemic and Japan closing its borders have forced us to choose an online version of the symposium.
The scope of the symposium is focused on Chironomidae research, but including a wide array of topics, from systematics, ecology, biomonitoring to recent advances in genomics and applied science.
The homepage of the symposium in now available online and we will soon start registrations. Please visit our site at:
https://kinki-convention.jp/isc2022/

We hope that the symposium will yield fruitful scientific exchanges among the whole chironomid researcher community. We may have lost people in our list, so if you know researchers around you interested in chironomid research, please advertise the symposium.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you this summer at the 21st International Symposium on Chironomidae!

Best regards,

Richard Cornette, on behalf of the organizing committee

The image in this post indicates that dorsal surfaces of larval head capsules merit attention not only on specimens of Chironominae.

Larval head capsule from Germany, Northrhine-Westphalia. Provisional designation: Acamptocladius sp. "Dalheim, NRW". NOTE the distinct reticular pattern on the dorsal surface (center of image). Photo author and owner: Thomas Bendt.
